I lovvvvvve this pattern, I am trying to do it with akapana crime yarn which is llama, merino, and donegal. When I casted on 90 stitches it didn’t make it to the end of my 16″ circulars. I want to add more stitchesto the cast on, but I feel like this will completely mess up the cables and increases/decreases. Any advice? My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for the comment! For a larger hat, you can add sts in multiples of 15 to create additional ‘panels’ of the cable — this will affect the stitch counts indicated in the pattern, but it won’t pose a huge problem. You just might not have an even number of sts in the very last rounds of the decreases (which are just k2tog around), so you have an extra stitch there. No big deal! What’s an extra stitch or two? :)
